We are in it together. Life together. Brene Brown says there is a difference between sympathy and empathy. If you are down in the pit, sympathy is up there at the edge yelling encouragement down to you and maybe a few tips on how to get out. Empathy jumps down into the pit. The urging of Romans is to get in the pit together. Life together is about getting in the pit. It is a commitment and a sacrifice, an intentional decision, to be in community in Christ for the sake of the glory of God. That’s church. Are you in?
