We receive numerous requests to support mission workers. Because we believe we are called to not just send a check, but to provide prayer and encouragement, as well as collaborate with our missionary partners, we are not able to increase the number of supported mission workers at this time. The Mission Engagement Team only considers a few mission workers per year. Individuals may apply by invitation only, which is highly dependent on their relationship with First Pres and/or members of the congregation.
If you would like to be added to the list for consideration, here are the steps: (1) Email missions@firstprescos.org with your name, organization, location, a short bio, and how you are connected to First Pres. (2) You may receive an email with an invitation to apply to become a partner. This will come from one of the members of our Mission Engagement Team (MET) in August or September. If you do not hear from us, please consider communicating with us the next year. (3) You will be asked to complete the application by a deadline, and possibly schedule an interview with members of the MET. (4) MET's partnership process includes discernment of call and stewardship, which takes several months. You would be informed in late January/early February whether or not we are called to partner with you and your ministry.
Thank you for your obedience to God's call on your life, and blessings in the work of support raising.
